Ishtar’s Angel is an unfinished dystopian erotic novella (four chapters written in 2023). It takes place in 2033 after an economic crash due to AI takeover of the economy. Almost no humans have income anymore… the exception is in-person sex workers, since robotics have not advanced far enough to replace the value of human touch. Thus, the relative wealth and power of sex workers is increasing in this post-apocalyptic society as everyone else loses their jobs.
Most humans want to leave this war-torn hellscape, and a group of sirens, in devotion to Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of love and war, have just the right offering at Ishtar’s Angels—the world’s first end-of-life bordello, helping world-weary clients go out with a bang. But will they be able to defend against their enemies, the ESWERFAs, a violent alliance of evangelical Christians and SWERFs who want to burn Ishtar's temple of love, sex, and death to the ground?
The first four chapters of the unfinished novella are here:
In late 2024, my alter-ego Michael Ellsberg began work on a thematically-similar novel, Ishtar’s Angels, which takes place in the present time. It features me, Daemon Derriere, as a character.
Hopefully, the characters of the present novel Ishtar’s Angels, including me and Percival Quill, can act in a way that avoids the 2033 dystopian nightmare portrayed in the original, unfinished novella Ishtar’s Angel.
